EXCLUSIVE TO SCHOOLS!

Travelling Art Series

Common Interest by Abu Jalal bin Sarimon, one of the art works in TAS

The Travelling Art Series (TAS) is the only educational project in Singapore that provides schools with the opportunity of having an original art work from the Museum's permanent collection at their school. This outreach project, endorsed by NAC-AEP scheme, aims to make the Museum more accessible to schools by targeting school assembly groups. It also aims to enhance the student’s appreciation and knowledge of art.

There are six art works in the series. Each art work is complemented by a teaching package which includes a simple discussion of the art work in question and art appreciation as well as worksheets.

A facilitator conducts a half-hour discussion of the particular art work, encouraging students to look at and observe the painting and appreciate each one in terms of genre and style. Worksheets (only for primary schools) are provided for teachers to follow up with their students.

$200 per programme. Schools can make use of the Tote Board Fund to subsidise the cost of the programme. Please email santha_anthony@nhb.gov.sg or call 6332 3220 for booking details. Download TAS booking form here.
