Narrative Sculptures

Contemporary Indian Sculpture takes on this special pictorial character but served by fresh technologies and a distinctive workmanship. Foremost amongst the contemporary Indian sculptors who delves into tradition and indigenous sources is celebrated Indian artist, S. Nandagopal.
"Narrative Sculptures" features 20 bronze sculptures by Indian art icon S. Nandagopal. Born in Bangalore in 1946, Nandagopal’s works have been exhibited extensively in India, Europe and the United States. Over the past 30 years, Nandagopal’s work has earned him recognition as one of Asia’s top expressive sculptor. Working mainly in bronze and copper, Nandagopal is today an icon in sculpture.
Organised by Singapore Art Museum in association with Gajah Gallery, "Narrative Sculptures" is the first extensive showing of Indian sculpture art in a museum internationally. It is also Nandagopal’s first exhibition of bronze sculptures in Asia
