We are happy to note that delegates and speakers found the conference worthwhile and interesting.  A comment from one of the participants summed it as “a good encouragement and good effort by NAS in making this two-day conference a great success”.

Our overseas speakers and delegates also expressed enthusiasm of the conference.  The comments received from:

Dr Graham Dominy, National Archivist of South Africa, delegate
“I was only able to get here for the lst day but what impressed me about the conference was the inter-linkages between the archival professionals and practitioners and people in associated field whether in government or the private sector and how the National Archives of Singapore really began to pull out some very strong synergies. Plus of course, the fascinating tours of all the facilities that we’ve seen and the kindness that everyone has shown us. It has been more than worthwhile.”

Dr Laura Miller, Speaker from Canada
“I thought that it was a fabulous experience and it’s my third time to Singapore and the longest time I’ve had. And it was wonderful to be part of the community here and meet people in the region and listen to some of what was going on”.

Mr Ray Edmondson, Speaker from Australia
“We are sitting here in the oral history studio at the National Archives. To me, this is the classiest oral history studio I’ve seen. As someone said, usually, its more like interrogation room but this one is set up like a lounge room, makes people feel comfortable I guess. .. There are very good papers and a lot raised I think very substantial issues. It’s been very well worth it.”

Ms Stacy Gould, Participant from University of Hong Kong
“I’m so impressed with our neighbours to the South. Yeah, this has been a wonderful trip for us… please quote all the way up to frankly I can’t wait to come back”.
